Trapping Legs Skill - Xianjing Tui Gong
陷阱美腿
with Dr. John Painter
Saturday & Sunday, 28 & 29 April 2018
Dr. John Painter is the man responsible for preserving Daoqiquan ("Martial Way of Vitality") and its component arts and transmitting them from the Li family lineage to several thousand students over the last 50 years. He travels twice every year to Saskatoon to share his very deep knowledge on health, vitality, and martial skills.
Please take note: Shigong Painter publicly announced last week that he will no longer be travelling to deliver workshops to Toronto, ON. Not all good things last forever.
Xianjing Tui Gong 陷阱美腿 teaches you how to destroy your enemy’s foundation – to remove their very ability to stand and move.
Chinese martial arts have a special category of tactics that deal with controlling the opponent’s legs and balance. These methods, called Xianjing Tui Gong (trapping leg skills), are used in many styles of martial training including Baguazhang, Taijiquan, and Xingyiquan.
Trapping leg skill can be used to trip and throw the enemy as he advances, lock and control balance, break knees, dislocate hip and ankle bones, as well as deflect kicks using your foot, knees, and thighs.
Shigong John Painter will introduce the basics of these special skills in our Saturday and Sunday workshop at Orchard Kung Fu. The program will be tailored to fit the skill level of each student, so there should be no fear of injury.
